There's plenty to do and explore for travelers visiting Palm Springs, California. While just unplugging and lounging by the pool is always an option for those looking to get away from their overstimulated daily lives, some like to check out their surroundings.

The LGBTQ+ History & Archives of the Desert give the backstory of what makes this place great in terms of the ever-evolving community found in southern California. This organization was just formed in 2019 and is based in the Palm Springs Public Library. Visit the new exhibit this June to study the contributions of important LGBTQ+ individuals over the years.

Another iconic haunt to visit is the Palm Springs Cultural Center and home to Cinema Diverse. The programing located within is ever-changing so stick close to the calendar at PSCulturalCenter.org. There are weekly shows upstairs and order Mildred's delicious chicken and waffles at the bar to snack on during a performance. Movie screenings, live music and drag presentations are just some of the various events that run monthly.

The Uptown District in Palm Springs has plenty of high-end shopping to traverse and is filled with both vintage and mid-century modern boutiques. Stay tuned to street festivals and events throughout the year at VisitPalmSprings.com.

Thinking about investing in the marijuana industry? Well, hop on the CannaBus Express Tour and go behind the scenes of this budding business. Listen to a talkative and informative tour guide while sampling snacks during a cool cruise that travels to labs, lounges and local growing facilities. During the lengthy expedition prepare to be fascinated while learning about the rapidly growing scientific process of harvesting cannabis. The tour begins and ends at the cleverly named Four Twenty Bank where participants can buy and consume products in a renovated bank environment that houses games and concerts right on the property!

Want to get higher? Head to the top of the San Jacinto Peak by way of the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway. The world's largest rotating mountain cable car gives tourists an opportunity to journey over 8, 000 feet up in the air.

Two restaurants, observation decks and hiking trails all greet guests as they make their way to an unbelievable view at the top!

The Palm Springs Art Museum contains the works of both national and international artists. There are actually three locations in Greater Palm Springs, but the main museum has three floors and can be found in downtown Palm Springs.

These are just a few ideas of things to do while visiting Palm Springs on vacation. The itinerary is up to you as this desert paradise has much to offer sightseers along the way!
