While it may feel early to some, Macy's on State Street is already lighting up for the holidays. On Nov. 2, the store kicked off its 112th annual tree lighting in the Walnut Room. With over 2,000 ornamnets and 6,600 lights, the iconic Great Tree looms 45 feet over guests dining at the restaurant.

Macy's CEO Jeff Gennette presented a performance with America's Got Talent violinist Brian King Joseph and a Make-A-Wish child during a countdown for the tree lighting.

After the ceremony, Joseph talked about his electric violin and forging the sound. He desribed playing it as "a journey and a challenge." He stated that Simon Cowell "kept it real" as his favorite judge when he performed on America's Got Talent.

Joseph said it was honor to play at the event for Macy's. Look for the violinist's new album to drop in January with all new material.

The 52nd holiday windows for Macy's features a Believe in the Wonder theme with Sunny the Snowpal. Once inside, head to the Starbucks to warm up to a world of shopping. STORY is the place to pick up some fun stocking stuffers then accompany those items with some I.N.C. jewelry and a variety of selections.

The 8,000 square foot Fragrance Department can be intimidating, but the new digital survey will narrow down the choices by putting each shopper into a category. The Mugler fountain is a brilliant idea to save on the environment and your pocket book. It's like a kegger for perfume, so go get a refill!

The lower lever has wines for every palette and the classic Frango Mints for gifts. Looking for Santa? Just head to the fifth level to sit on his lap and ask for a personal shopper if you are feeling overwhelmed by the clothing on the third floor.

The very impressive sixth floor houses some amazing furniture with a new virtual reality feature where people can visualize adjustments in their home.

After all that, make a reservation in the Walnut Room, to sit under the newly lit tree and fill up before more shopping.
