Ace Comic Con returned to Chicago for a second year from Oct. 11-13 at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center. Previously, Ace was based at Navy Pier, but now seems to have outgrown that space. Bigger than ever, the shear power of big celebrity names brought in a massive amount of people.

Fans lined up to meet some of their favorite Avengers such as Brie Larson and Chris Hemsworth. The focus for this convention is the photo opps with rare appearances by actors Jake Gyllenhaal and Taren Egerton. I was pleased to discover that Rocketman is a hugger!

Professional Illustrators were at their booths to create new art and sign past work. Opportunites to purchase rare merchandise and network with a variety of people over three days was well worth the price of admission.

Creator and CEO of the Ace Comic Con Gareb Shamus plans to expand more in the future so stay tuned to AceComicCon.com.

Other comic conventions continue to grow their empire in the Chicago market. C2E2, or Chicago Comic & Entertainment Expo will be back for more action next year Feb. 28-March 1, 2020 at McKormick Place.

So far, Star Trek fans will be satisfied with big names from the original TV show already scheduled to attend. For more updates visit C2E2.com.

Wizard World just flew out of town and is already gearing up for August 20-23, 2020. Early bird specials are currently offered online at WizardWorld.com.

Having celebrities like Kato Kaelin emcee the cosplay crowd was brilliant last time!

Every comic convention has a unique perspective and will keep people dressing up all year long. Now when is Chicago DragCon going to happen?
