Macy's on State Street is showing its true colors with a Pride + Joy campaign. Shoppers can now give to The Trevor Project through the end of June by rounding up to the nearest dollar and donate change with their purchases.

There is also a three piece collection by one of my favorite brands INC International Concepts. A portion of the purchase price for the rainbow clothing is donated to the organization that helps LGBT youth in crisis.

On June 15 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the 111 N. State Street store on the first floor, there is a Pride pop up with drag queen performances, rainbow face painting and snacks. I have attended the event in the past and felt proud to gay. It truly was a celebration that brings attention to a worthy cause.

The first 50 costumers to show their Macy's credit card at the Star Rewards station will receive a complimentary gift. Make sure not to miss this upcoming event.

Just in time for Pride, there's a new shoe option in every color of the rainbow or even go for the glitter. Chinelas just recently opened in Block 37 at 108 N. State Street, right across the street from Macy's and downstairs in the mall.

Try this comfortable shoe at the boutique that comes in a wide range of men's sizes as well as women.

While you are slipping on the shoe, sip on an Argentinian yerba mate tea that's in the same space. Shoppers can also snack on an empanadas filled beef, chicken or vegetables.

Come out and spend money at businesses, whether large or small, that support the LGBT community. These days it's more important than ever that we let our money do the talking and march past the businesses that don't have our backs or hearts in mind!
