Time is running out to be frightened this Halloween and there are plenty of spots that can still stir up the scares.
The 13th Floor in Melrose Park is a good place to start. Parking is located across the street at the 1940 George St. location. Several ghouls will greet you upon arrival and take your picture before you start.
Remember no touching the monsters and they won't touch you!
Fast pass and skip the line features are offered and highly recommended if you have waited this long to check it out. Don't miss the room that will throw off your balance and there are several dark rooms that will most certainly disorient you so beware.
Visit 13thFloorChicago.com for tickets before they run out.
House of Torment is one of my favorite places to visit yearly. The team is continually finding new ways to strike terror into the hearts of guests.
This time ticket holders are taken in groups of two, strapped into a wheelchair and have their heads covered. The person pushing the wheelchair around the maze will take you on a wild ride that might not be for everybody, but kept my imagination going.
If that's not your bag then there's a second chance with the second part of the experience right next door. The characters are geniunely creepy and that's because the actors know how to commit to their roles. Visit HouseofTormentChicago.com and find out for yourself.
Midnight Terror Haunted House is a bit of a drive at 5520 W 11th St. in Oak Lawn, but the experience will leave you satisfied. From the sparky guy outside to the pop out characters along the way, this troupe will make you scream.
The workers inside the haunted house are having a good time and that can make all the difference in the world. Visit MidnightTerrorHauntedHouse.com for tickets right away before it's too late.
I'm not sure what took me so long for the Fright Fest experience at Six Flags Great America, but it was certainly worth the wait.
The theme park transforms into an even more thrilling attraction than it usually is and grows even scarier after 6 p.m. There are zombies strolling around in 10 scare zones, 16 coasters that run in the dark and six haunted houses. The movie Hell Fest inspired one of those houses and will leave you shivering as no one can trust who is who. Is it a mannequin or a real person? Keep your guard up!
Be sure and check out the limited schedule at SixFlags.com/GreatAmerica/Special-Events/Fright-Fest-Night with all kinds of perks offered online.
Lining up early and using VIP passes when available is strongly recommended for all of you impatient ghosts. Get ready for a howlingly good time this Halloween and tell them the Nunn sent you!
