On Jan. 23 it was a spirited night in the city of Chicago.

It began with a sit down dinner at The Herbarium at Bad Hunter. The food was not their typical fare but Scottish inspired for the festivities. Everything from haggis to a massive nut and berry dessert were sampled throughout the experience.

The charismatic Andrew Weir hosted the event telling stories and speaking poetry while a talented band with Broadway roots accompanied him in the background.

Aberlour Whisky was the featured sipping drink paired with the food throughout each course. In the process we learned much about Robert Burns, a Scotland hero who wrote "Auld Lang Syne."

Afterwards it was time to head to Joe's on Weed Street for a launch party of Samuel Adams' Sam '76. This light, citrusy beer had everyone dancing to the funky tunes of George Clinton & the Parliament Funkadelic. The night closed with the iconic Clinton and his posse jamming to "Atomic Dog.
