The 60th Annual Grammy Awards airs Sunday, Jan. 28, 2018 at 6:30 p.m. CBS broadcasts the awards from Madison Square Gardens in New York City.

Rapper Jay-Z leads with eight nominations this year. Kendrick Lamar is right behind him with seven nominations and Bruno Mars is right after with six. SZA is the female with the most nominations of five. I am a fan and have interviewed Andra Day in the past who announced the nominations.

I enjoy categories like Best New Artist because I like to discover new talent. I recently interviewed Julia Michaels who had a huge single with "Issues." Alessia Cara probably deserves the award but Khalid's album is better. SZA will probably win because of her duet with Maroon 5. Who is Lil Uzi Vert by the way?!?

"Despacito" deserves to win Song of the Year, although "1-800-273-8255" has the most social attention.

Best Pop Solo Performance will be fun to watch with gay faves Kelly Clarkson, Kesha, Lady Gaga, and P!nk all battling it out.

Chicago held a Grammy nomination party at Atelier Manarchy on Hubbard Street on Jan. 18. Several local nominees were in attendance and the event space was welcoming and full of art.
