Fogo de Chao legacy first opened as a restaurant in 1979 in Porto Alegre, Brazil. The chain eventually moved to the United States in 1997.

For the Chicago location at 661 N LaSalle Blvd, a new bar menu was unveiled recently. There are some Brazilian bites to pick from during happy hour from 4:30 pm to 6:30 pm including braised beef rib sliders and Brazilian empanadas.

Try the Fogo Caipirinha made with their silver cachaca rum or a virgin mojito was delicious if alcohol is not your thing.

The massive market table is supplied with everything from charcuterie to over eight different salads. The lunch special is $15 with an option to add one meat for under $10. What a bargain!

The friendly gauchos bring out a mix of meats such as marinaded chicken, pork sausage, and lamb chops.

If one is not overwhelmed order the chocolate mousse cake for dessert.

For Mother's Day all mothers that dine receive a complimentary dining card for a future visit. Visit fogodechao.com for more information and listen to me talk about the restaurant on WGN Radio http://gopride.com/Zd4a/

Another spot with meat on a skewer served table side is Zed451 who just celebrated National Cosmo Day by playing Sex & and the City and serving martinis. Their light bite menu was plenty filling with macaroni and cheese croquettes and tuna tacos.

The sliders were a stand out with smoked wagyu brisket. Located at 739 N Clark Street expect this hot spot to open a beautiful rooftop deck when the weather warms up. Call 312-266-6691 or visit zed451.com for more information.
