Donald E. Stephens Convention Center was full of capes and costumes for three days in August for the Wizard World event.

A place where unique personalities and comic book collectors can nerd out has become a safe place in the area for years.

Wizard World has always been more celebrity focused and this year was no exception.

Michael Rooker from the popular TV series The Walking Dead and Guardians of the Galaxy spoke to me on the red carpet before the wild Wizard weekend began.

He confirmed he will be in Guardians part two and stated his favorite thing about comic convention appearances is the people that attend. "Usually people that dress up like me are around three years of age. When I was just in Dublin a kid came up to me and was in the character the whole time as Yondu. I couldn't get him to crack a smile but when it came time to the take picture he wouldn't stop smiling!"

At Wizard World I shopped until I almost dropped on Sunday catching last minute deals. I picked up out of the box action figures on the cheap, origanl art painted on canvas by an artist, and spun the wheel to win a Rocket Raccoon.

There was so much to see and do while there that it was overwhelming. I needed a superhero to rescue me from the crowds!

Wizaard World flies back into town on August 18-21 in 2016. Visit www.wizardworld.com/chicago.html for more information.
