Chocolate Cravings

Godiva Chocolatier has a long history in the dessert business. Founded in 1926 in Belgian, this historic company now has locations all over the world.

The shelves are covered with boxes of candies for gifts or to self indulge. The products really stir up the mind for ways to give to others. With this much chocolate around why not pay it forward and learn to share? My holiday wheels were spinning, talk about Christmas in July!

Lady Godiva was nowhere in sight but there was a gay fella perhaps behind the counter that was helpful and whose job has now transformed to ice creat attendant who pour toppings all day. Shoppers dropped in by the droves to take a break and drink a shake.

Currently there are two happy hour items beings featured with soft serve ice cream and the trufflelata. The soft serve ice cream comes in dark chocolate and white chocolate vanilla bean or maybe you are down with the swirl to try both! The dark chocolate is rich so be warned, this ain't no regular chocolate. It is gritty and thick and something different from soft serve.

The trufflelata has a variety of flavors from mocha, to new mint chocolate chip but I had to try the chocolate lava cake. Can one have too much chocolate? Not in this case and I will be back to try more.

With happy hours weekdays from 3:00pm to 6:00pm at many locations such as the 845 N. Michigan Avenue Godiva store inside the mall, there was the opportunity to buy one item and get the next one half off. If you are a chocholic like me then take one for each hand or bring a friend!

When you feel a sweet tooth head over to www.godiva.com to find the nearest location.
