The Hilton Was Hopping

The Hilton at 17 East Monroe was hopping on July 10 with a huge event. The night began with a malt whiskey tasting from Macallan for Hilton Hhonors members that included samples from the Rare Cask collection and ended with a taste from the $4,000 bottle. To pair with the selections an extravagant dinner was prepared with kobe beef that was just the right texture and temperature. Guests were then escorted into the next part of the evening.

In a large party room there were snack stations and specialy drinks in every corner. Popular singer Meghan Trainor was originally scheduled to appear but suffered from a vocal hemorage. She's recovered now but that night the party was still on. This time singer Sydney Sierota from indie band Echosmith began the music program on a casual stage in a room that was perfect to see someone with such vocal talent up closed and personal. Here is my recent interview with her

Afterwards, newcomer Andy Grammer had a lively set. His huge hit "Honey, I'm Good" has taken over the airwaves recently with a mix of country and pop. He was quite the performer while dancing with a bright charismatic smile. His music was so strong that he didn't even end with his big chart topper but instead continued on making each track better than the last. He is definitely someone to keep your eyes on for the future.

The Hilton@PLAY initiative has sponsored concerts at several locations and this time the Palmer House was brought to life with an intimate concert, food, and fun.
