Halloween is heating up or maybe cooling down depending on your perspective with new record temperatures and lots of activitiy in the city. On the big screen we have the Carrie remake and on the small screen FX's American Horror Story. As far as live entertainment nothing beats the Halsted Parade on Halloween and all the bars down the strip celebrating.
There are haunted house such as the one at Navy Pier where I worked for five years as a pirate or a new one Screams In the Park.
Located at Rosemont in the MB Financial Park, visitors are welcomed into the haunted home of Dr. H.H. Holmes, a notorious serial killer. There is a good length to maze that will make wait time not so long and a VIP line as well to help for only $5 more added to the $20 price tag. Buying tickets online is also suggested at www.screamsinthepark.co.
Afterwards head over to the Mini Mile for some Adobe Gila's margaritas. I was terrorized by these poisonous lizards in Oklahoma and now that have come back to haunt me in restaurant form!
On Halloween Eve come out for a good cause this year at The Call from 6 to 9 on Wednesday October 30. There will be a costume contest, celebrities singing, comedians, female illusionists and tons of Nunn prizes. A $20 donation at the door helps Vital Bridges Center on Chronic Care, a program of Heartland Health Outreach, Inc.
Look for talent from The Voice, X Factor, and American Idol along with lots of surprises, free stuff from Sean Saves the World, food and drink specials along with an after party at my house within walking distance so no drunk driving.
I hope to see everyone there!!!
