Six Flags Great America is better than ever this summer with big events through the fall. In the past kids have been treated to a parade on a train near closing time with some of their favorite Looney Tune character but this year a complete show premiered instead in Hometown Square.

A six story tall lit up backdrop provides the set for a DJ, dancers, a boy band, costumed singers, then finally fireworks to finish things off entitled igNIGHT. A 120 rounds of pyrotechnics in fact and with every light up glow stick possible in the park this is the way to end a long day of fun.

Try riding the Batman ride backwards meaning that the seats are turned around but it follows the same route. This will make your stomach flip flop then head over to X Flight for one of the smoothest rides ever thanks to it being a single rail wing coaster. Superman is so much better if you wait to sit in front and the same goes for the older favorite Raging Bull that still invokes long lines to this day. Feel VIP and buy a fast pass and get more bang for your buck.

Don't miss the hot date of September 14 for Gay Day Out in the Park beginning at 9:00 p.m. and lasting until 1:00 a.m. Last year the ticket allowed attendees in all day but this time it is only a special private event and parking is included. Tickets are $38. DJ Matthew Harvat will be spinning tunes in the Hom0-town Square and look for special guests on the way. Let's pray for good weather and no rain on our gay parade this year!
