Statesville Scare

Already referred to as the "best haunted house in Chicagoland" the Statesville Haunted Prison is full of surprises and scares for everyone. Located in Crest Hill, Lottie's pub at 1925 W. Cortland Street offered beer and a bus ride out to the joint for $40 a person. We were given VIP tickets thanks to them and it was worth it to skip the massive line in the cold.

Over 150 actors are employed in over 40 rooms. Plan on spending almost an hour inside the two separate houses then shoot at zombies afterwards on a shooting range using military grade equipment.
The "sisters room" pictured here hearkens to The Ring movie and might be the scariest part filled with mirrors and evil little girls.

No this is not for children or the faint of heart. Crawl spaces, narrow hallways and inflatable walls that have to be pushed through make this not a good spot for the claustrophobic.
Many of the mechanical pop out scares really do their job but what makes the experience complete is the staff. They are well trained, have fun while working, and are downright creepy!

This beast even terrorized me on the bus when we tried to leave! You can run but you can't hide from these ghoulish characters. For information and hours of operation visit statesvillehauntedprison.com where tickets may be purchased online. Time is running out to get your scare on so go get imprisoned today, boo!
