Horizons Community Services announces the establishment of the Martin Ruiz, Jr. Scholarship. The scholarships will be awarded annually to gay and lesbian youth pursuing a career through non-traditional means.

We've always thought so, that's why he was named Man of the Year at this year's Gay Chicago Award. Even if he weren't so successful, Tom would be fun to watch. I used to enjoy seeing him at the Body Shop."

The Human Rights Campaign and other civil rights groups hold a town hall meeting on the Permanent Partners Immigration Act, proposed legislation which would modify U.S. immigration law to grant same-sex partners of U.S. citizens and permanent residents the same immigration rights as married couples. It takes place at Ann Sather's Restaurant, 929 W. Belmont.
