Hit the Horseshoe in Hammond

The Horseshoe Casino in Hammond, Indiana at 777 Casino Center Drive has so many things to offer people ready to travel over the border. Only a quick 20 minute drive or hop on a convenient commuter bus to head there from downtown Chicago. Sign up for a players club card and the ride is free.

There is more than 350,000 square feet of casino floor with over 3,000 slot machines, my favorite is the Sex in the City theme one of course. Don't leave home without an ID for entrance. Once inside there's a gift shop and several restaurants including Uno's Pizzeria and Benny's Pub are all provided. The Village Square Buffet offers styles from Mexican to Chinese and is located right outside the concert venue. Speaking of which, The Venue has provided concerts for years with acts such as Diana Ross, Kelly Clarkson, and I am looking forward to Snow Patrol in November.

I took a yacht cruise that is usually reserved to the high rollers and special guests. There were cocktails once we hit Chicago waters that kept the boat hopping. Samplings of food from Jack Binion's Steak House were crab cakes and a delicious smoked duck quesadilla. The Bill Curtis grass fed beef ribeye wasn't too shabby either. Who doesn't love a good pretzel roll?

With so much fun and entertainment the Horseshoe Casino makes a great getaway from Chicago and the surrounding areas. Visit www.horseshoehammond.com for details and to plan your trip today!
