The Chicago House Spring Brunch & Fashion Show 2012 was one of the most fun events I'd had the pleasure of attending recently! The fashion show started as I walked into the doors of the Winter Garden Ballroom of the Harold Washington Library, and it didn't end until I strutted my stuff on the catwalk. An impressive stage and banquet set up filled the skylight space with spring light and color. With bloody mary in hand, I made my way around the room scoping out all the fashion highs and lows. And my census, spring has certainly sprung! Pastels in every shade, floral prints, and "creative" event attire were all the rage.

My best friend and hair stylist Chase Olive accompanied me as I scanned over the awesome silent auction. Because I have a gadget fetish, I was thrilled to find out that this silent auction utilized an app for your phone to place bids. It's always exciting running into Ricardo Sebastian, President of Luxury Management, because he werks a room harder than Naomi Campbell throws a phone. It was also great seeing one of my favorite photographers, Bret Grafton, spotting his sleeves in a sleeve-less button-up! But after some chatting, it was time for the real show to start, the food. Jewell Events Catering out-did them selves with their 3-course brunch featuring come very creative presentation techniques to remind event attendees of the 25 years we were celebrating for Chicago House.

With fashion from Mark Shale perfectly styled to push Chicago spring trends to the next level, and a beautifully tailored collection from Chicago's very own Borris Powell, I was quite enthused with the quality of this day show. The fashion was fierce, the food was fabulous, and the space was fantastic. What else could you ask for on a Sunday afternoon?
