The CTA’s Pride train is back

The Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) four 'L' cars wrapped in the rainbow flag returned in 2018 for Chicago Pride.

The colorful cars, which debuted in 2017, will be mixed with other trains circulating on the Red Line for Pride Weekend celebrations. The Pride train is sponsored by U.S. Bank.

Additionally, the CTA is offering special Pride tickets at select stations.

The CTA will provide additional train and bus service to accommodate the crowd attending the 49th annual Pride Parade on Sunday. Public transportation is recommended by the city as there will be parking restrictions in the area.

Riders are urged to take trains from stations other than Belmont to avoid crowds. Red Line and Brown Line trains will have more frequent service and there will be longer trains on the Brown, Blue and Orange Lines. Bicycles will not be allowed on trains.

The 2018 Chicago Pride Parade will step off at noon on Sunday, June 24 at Broadway and Montrose in the Uptown neighborhood. The parade will then travel the 21-block parade route south on Broadway; then south on Halsted; then east on Belmont; then south on Broadway; then east on Diversey to Cannon Drive.
