Chuck Renslow, a Chicago gay pioneer and legend who also was a major player in the gay scene worldwide, died June 29 after multiple long-term health issues. He was 87.

The 21st annual Chicago Dyke March was met with controversy when collective members carrying rainbow pride flags with a Star of David center were told to leave because the flags "made people feel unsafe" and that the Dyke March was a "anti-Zionist, pro-Palestinian" space, reported Windy City Times.

Chuck Hyde, who worked at Sidetrack for 32 years, passed away April 6 in Florida of heart disease.
