Steve Grand explains his skimpy swimwear

Out singer-songwriter Steve Grand, fresh off an appearance at Market Days in Boystown, covers the September issue of UK gay glossy Attitude. In the magazine, Grand has spoken out about criticism of his choice in swimwear.

Grand’s Instagram feed is filled with pictures of himself wearing skimpy swimwear, which has generated some criticism of the 27-year-old muscular musician. Grand told Attitude that he's aware of the controversy the images create and explained why he enjoys wearing swimwear that barely covers the essentials.

“I'm very well aware that people [think], 'He looks so tasteless. He looks so trashy,'” Grand told Attitude.

He said he doesn’t understand the controversy and explained he likes the way they make him feel.

“Like men have this wonderful thing between their legs that to some degree protrudes. I think it's a beautiful thing and I like presenting it in a way that's nice and pleasant and attractive,” Grand said.

Steve Grand releases new single 'Walking'

In June, Steve Grand released "Walking", the first single off his second album due out later this year.

"I'm so proud of the album," Grand told ChicagoPride.com. "On the first (album), I was still trying to find myself as an artist. On this album, I'm much more focused, more grown up and I know myself better as a person and as an artist. I think my audience definitely will like it, and that's important to me."
