Over 5,000 people attended Tokyo’s Rainbow Pride parade on Sunday, May 7 in the Shibuya district of the Japanese capital. The parade was the finale to the annual Tokyo Rainbow Pride festival, which has taken place every year since 2012. This year's theme was "Change."

Thousands of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people paraded through Tokyo's Shibuya district on Sunday to express hope that Japan will further embrace gender equality and diversity. The LGBT parade was the finale to the annual Tokyo Rainbow Pride festival, and this year's theme was "Change." According to the organizer, an estimated 5,000 people took part in the parade, which was sponsored by a record 190 companies and organizations, including big names such as NTT Corp., Sony Corp. and Google Inc. ??
