Halloween Party Benefits Gay Games Annual Meeting in Chicago
Sun. October 5, 2003 12:00 AM
Karoake & Kostumes - October 31st
Chicago, IL -
In your shower and car you sing like her and for Halloween you're considering going dressed like her. Why not combine your two passions on Halloween and come to Buddies' in Chicago's Lakeview neighborhood for a Karoake & Kostumes event sure to feature some great performances by divas, animals, fantasy characters and other supporters of Chicago's gay and lesbian sports and culture community.
Karoake & Kostumes will be held at Buddies' Restaurant and Bar, 3301 N. Clark Street, on Friday, October 31, 2003, from 9 pm to midnight. This isn't your neighborhood costume party. Non-stop karaoke with Buddies' very popular KJ (Karoake Jockey) Tim P, best costume contest (winner gets $250), drawings, and great drink specials will make this a great stop for people on the Lakeview costume circuit on Halloween. What's more, your $20 cover gets you open bar (well drinks and beer) while benefiting the groups bringing the Federation of Gay Games® Annual Meeting to Chicago in November of 2003.
Tickets are available at Buddies' or online at ChicagoGamesInc.org. Contact Rob at (312) 933-3637 for more information about the event, making a donation toward the FGG Annual Meeting or sponsoring the event.
The 2003 Federation of Gay Games Annual Meeting will take place in Chicago November 9-15 and is hosted by Chicago Games, Inc., and Team Chicago. Chicago Games, Inc. (ChicagoGamesInc.org) is a nonprofit organization committed to the mission of the Gay Games® movement in Chicago. Formerly known as Chicago 2006, we were the organizing force behind Chicago's bid to host the Gay Games® in 2006. While that effort was ultimately not successful and the 2006 Gay Games were awarded to Montreal, the commitment to the vision of the Gay Games® movement continues to people in the Chicago area and CGI, working alongside sports and cultural organizations locally, continues to work to support that vision. Team Chicago (TeamChicago.org) is a nonprofit membership organization supported by donations, membership and volunteers whose mission is to maximize the number of participants from greater Chicago at the Gay Games® and to promote the ideals of inclusion, participation and the pursuit of personal best. For more information on the Gay Games® and its governing body, the Federation of Gay Games, visit GayGames.org.
We don't think your wigs and makeup will be tax deductible, but Chicago Games, Inc., and Team Chicago are both 501c3 nonprofit organizations deserving of your support.
