Farrah Franklin & Michelle Williams Debut In 'Say

New York - Columbia Records has announced today that multi-platinum recording artists Destiny's Child have welcomed new members Farrah Franklin, age 18, and Michelle Williams, 19. The performers make their debut in the group's video for "Say My Name," which premieres on music video outlets this week. The group will attend the Grammy Awards, for which they've received two nominations, before embarking March 5 on a two-week promotional tour of Europe. They'll then return to the U.S. for a pair of Madison Square Garden concerts with Brian McKnight and a concert tour in the Spring.

Both Farrah and Michelle have a history with Destiny's Child founding members and creative forces Beyonce Knowles and Kelly Rowland; Farrah danced in the group's video for their No. 1 single, "Bills, Bills, Bills," while Michelle met them during her stint as a background singer for Monica.

"We couldn't be more excited that Farrah and Michelle have joined us," Beyonce and Kelly concur. "We're all really looking forward to the next phase of Destiny's Child."

Destiny's Child's latest album, The Writing's On The Wall, has been certified double-platinum and has produced three hits to-date: the new "Say My Name"; "Bug A Boo"; and the album's first single, "Bills, Bills, Bills," which spent nine week at No. 1 on Billboard's R&B Singles chart (the longest at the No. 1 position in 1999) and hit the No. 1 spot on the Hot 100 Singles chart. In the summer of 1999, "Bills, Bills, Bills" was the No. 1 song on R&B radio for five weeks in a row. Destiny's Child burst onto the music scene in 1997 with their multi-platinum No. 1 single, "No, No No," from their self-titled debut album.

Destiny's Child have recently been presented with an NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Duo or Group for The Writing's On The Wall.
