Washington, D.C. - An ornament featuring well-known celebrity drag performer Hedda Lettuce has the right-wing outraged the night before Christmas.

A blog posting on Andrew Breitbart's right-wing BigGovernment.com Web site entitled, "EXCLUSIVE: Transvestites, Mao And Obama Ornaments Decorate White House Christmas Tree," reports this latest "controversy" facing President Barack Obama.

The Christmas ornaments in question are part of a design by openly-gay Simon Doonan, creative director of Barney's New York, and are displayed on the White House Christmas tree in the Blue Room.

The three ornaments in question show an image of Hedda Lettuce, which is signed by the performer; an image of an Andy Warhol print of Mao and the third shows a photo of Obama on Mt. Rushmore. All of the ornaments were designed by community groups and are part of 800 Christmas ornaments sent to community groups, schools and charities for decoration.

"Of course, Mao has his place in the White House. And, of course, it wouldn't be Christmas without an ornament of legendary transvestite Hedda Lettuce"…."And, so soon after collecting the Nobel Peace Prize, why wouldn't the White House have an ornament super-imposing President Obama onto Mt. Rushmore," read the BigGovernment blog.

In a blog post, Hedda Lettuce explains the White House sent boxes of plain bulbs to schools and charities, including a NYC gay community center at which she volunteers, for creative decoupaging. Hedda decorated her bulb with images of herself.

Hedda Lettuce is currently appearing on Ru Paul's reality show, "Drag Race," on Logo.
