Money raised from this event will be used to cover the expenses of the 2009 Chicago Gay and Lesbian Hall of Fame induction ceremony, which is scheduled for Thursday, November 12, at the Chicago Cultural Center. The ceremony is free and open to the public. In addition, a portion of these funds will be earmarked to support the Hall of Fame's Web site (www.GLHallofFame.org). The Chicago Gay and Lesbian Hall of Fame's featured sponsors for the 2009 season include Boi Magazine, Circuit Night Club, J&L Catering, Miller Lite, Sidetrack, and Supergurl Images (list still in formation).

Chicago is the only known municipality that so honors its LGBT residents.
