Popular sites unite to promote Chicago’s gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender community

Chicago, IL - OutPride, LLC a Chicago-based not-for-profit company today announced a strategic alliance between ChicagoPride.com and QChicago.com, which will merge the QChicago.com website into the ChicagoPride.com brand creating the largest web-based resource of local content tailored specifically for Chicago’s Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender community.

The ChicagoPride.com website, which has consistently been ranked in the top 1% of all websites (Amazon.com/Alexa Data), features event calendars, a popular matchmaker, special interest columns, and a comprehensive phone directory emphasizing local gay & lesbian dining and nightlife. The Qchicago.com site, which launched on August 9th, 2001 and merged with myboystown.com in October 2002, has managed to create the premiere destination for gay Chicago through unique local content and resources relevant to Chicago’s LesBiGay community.

"QChicago.com offers a wealth of valuable information to its visitors," said R. Matthew Inawat, president of ChicagoPride.com, "and we are very pleased that the technology strengths of ChicagoPride.com will be the perfect complement to the content-rich resources of QChicago.com."

The newly merged Internet community, found on the web at www.chicagopride.com, will create one of Chicago's most-visited web destinations (gay or straight). Visitors will find the same local content with current and future contributions enhanced by the interactive features and intuitive technologies developed by ChicagoPride.com. The goal remains to showcase Chicago’s GLBT community while maintaining a strong commitment to charities and organizations.

"With the opportunities the merger affords, I look forward to creating a more compelling media for Chicago's gay community," said Steve Long, president of QChicago.com. "I couldn’t think of a better time then Pride week to announce a project so heavily focused on promoting our community."
