City of Chicago salutes 11th annual Ride for AIDS Chicago

Mayor Rahm Emanuel and the Chicago City Council passed a resolution on June 25, recognizing the participants and volunteers in the 11th Annual Ride for AIDS Chicago (RFAC) for their commitment to raising awareness and funding for HIV/AIDS services in Chicagoland.
Organized by the not-for-profit Test Positive Awareness Network (TPAN), the two-day, 200-mile Ride for AIDS Chicago raised nearly $2.5 million in its first decade, and has a goal of raising $1 million during this year's event July 12 and 13. Funds benefit TPAN and partnering agencies which provide vital testing, medical resources and counseling for people with HIV/AIDS.
The City Council Resolution was introduced by 33rd Ward Ald. Deb Mell, 30th Ward Ald. Ariel Reboyras, who will be participating in the ride, 44th Ward Ald. Tom Tunney and 25th Ward Ald. Daniel Solis.
