True Colors Tour Kicks Off May 31st

Chicago, IL - Pop music icon Cyndi Lauper will release her highly-anticipated new album Bring Ya To The Brink on Epic Records, May 27th. Lauper, well known for her vocally superior and emotionally intense live performances, will be heading out to celebrate the second year of her 25-city True Colors Tour. The tour, which raises awareness about gay rights, features icons like B-52s, Joan Jett and the Blackhearts as well as up and coming acts like Tegan and Sara, The Cliks, Regina Spektor and many more.

On the new album, Lauper works with some of today's top dance producers including Dragonette, Kleerup, Basement Jaxx, Axwell and more. The album showcases an edgy new sound evident on the first single, "Same Ol' Story," co-produced by Rich Morel, known for his hit remixes of songs by Nelly Furtado, Mariah Carey and the Killers.

"This is an album that can be experienced in two completely different ways," Lauper says, explaining that Bring Ya To The Brink is, "A dance album that you can move to and enjoy on a surface level. But if you want more than that, there's a lot to discover inside the lyrics… these songs get pretty deep."

This year also marks the second True Colors Tour for Cyndi Lauper. The groundbreaking tour was conceived by Lauper stemming from her desire to give back to the community for the love and support they have given her throughout her career. The True Colors Tour, celebrating the basic values and freedoms that should be shared by all Americans, is helmed by Lauper and will also feature performances by other legendary icons and entertainers: The B-52s, Rosie O'Donnell, Carson Kressley, Wanda Sykes, Tegan and Sara, Regina Spektor, Joan Jett and the Blackhearts, Joan Armatrading, Indigo Girls, Nona Hendryx, Deborah Cox, The Cliks, Andy Bell, The Puppini Sisters and Kat DeLuna.

She has released 12 albums, over 40 singles and has sold more than 25 million records world wide. Lauper has been nominated for 13 Grammy Awards, 2 Emmy Awards, 2 American Music Awards, 7 American Video Awards, 18 MTV awards.
