Gay Powerlifter Qualifies for 3rd World Final

Chicago, IL - Chris Morgan, the current reigning Gay Games and World Drug Free Powerlifting champion, has qualified for his 3rd World Championship Final.

He was lifting in the British Drug Free Powerlifting Championships, held in Grangemouth, Scotland and completed lifts of 225 kilos in Squat, 117.5 kg in Bench Press (personal best) and 257.5 kg in Deadlift (personal best) for a total of 600 kilos. His bodyweight was 75 kilos.

Speaking about his achievement, Chris Morgan said the competition "was made extremely painful by a neck injury, which was sustained during my final preparations."

'I'm disappointed to have lost my British title, but very proud to have qualified for another World Championship Final. It's always a huge honour to represent England and test myself against the strongest men in the world.'

Continuing, Chris said, "My target now is to be in shape for the Gay Games in Chicago (July) and to participate at my own personal best."

Morgan is a member of the Board of Ambassadors for Federation of Gay Games and the Gay Games in Chicago 2006.
