A fresh talent to the music scene, DJ Deanne has always been surrounded by music. As a child, she grew up listening to 70’s and 80’s rock, funk, and R&B artists like Queen, Earth, Wind & Fire, Rick James and Donna Summer. When Deanne moved to Tampa in 1996 she got a taste of what club music was about and what she had been missing in her native Midwest. She immersed herself in the music and her continual search for the newest, freshest tracks that she was hearing in the clubs unveiled a passion and ignited a fire.
She moved back to Bloomington, Indiana in 1999 and began spinning at the only club there with a house music format. Deanne moved to Indianapolis in early 2003 and made her Indy debut at the official Indy Pride T-Dance that summer. In late 2003, Deanne landed a prime Friday night weekly mix show on Miami-based Energy Internet Radio/EnergyRadio.fm. By late 2003, she had earned a monthly spot at Indy’s hottest club, Talbott Street, which has hosted talents such as, Manny Lehman, Barry Harris, and Tracy Young with the Queer as Folk Babylon Tour.
Deanne’s style is defined by the spirit and energy of house music. She combines vocal, progressive, underground and tribal beats and rhythms to take her listeners on a unique journey marked with sensuality, undeniable energy, and “dance floor drama”.
Deanne can be heard every Saturday night on FusionChicago.com and at special appearances throughout the Midwest.
