Burbank, CA - The whole family will go bananas over Warner Home Video's and Keystone Entertainment's new comedy, "MVP: Most Valuable Primate."

From the producers of "Air Bud," "MVP" tells the story of Jack, a chimpanzee who becomes the wildest hockey player ever to hit the ice, and will arrive in stores on Jan. 23, 2001 for $19.96 VHS SRP and $24.98 DVD SRP.

"MVP" made a theatrical debut in Canada as the No. 1 family film for its first six weeks of release and opened theatrically in the United States on Oct. 20, 2000.

Produced and directed by Robert Vince ("Air Bud," "Air Bud 2: Golden Receiver," "Air Bud 3: World Pup," "The Duke") and starring Rick Ducommun ("Groundhog Day," "Die Hard"), Dave Thomas ("SCTV," "The Coneheads"), Kevin Zegers ("Life With Mikey," NBC's "Titans") and Jamie Renee Smith ("The New Swiss Family Robinson," "Dante's Peak"), "MVP" is a film for the entire family.

Finding himself in unfamiliar and cold territory, Jack, the chimp, is befriended by Tara, a young, deaf girl, and her older brother Steven who has big hockey-playing dreams. When the kids discover that Jack has a hidden talent, he becomes the secret weapon for the struggling, local junior hockey team and helps them find the courage to become champions.

"'MVP' is a terrific family film and Warner Home Video is thrilled to add this heartwarming, action-comedy to its family entertainment library," said Ewa Martinoff, Warner vice president, Family Entertainment Marketing. "MVP -- on both VHS and DVD -- provides exciting entertainment for children and adults alike."
