Denver, Colorado - A man who was badly beaten outside of a gay bar is suing the Denver Health Medical Center claiming he was assaulted a second time once he reached hospital.

Gregory Bradford was attacked as he walked to his car outside the Compound bar on Feb. 16, 2003. He suffered massive head wounds and was rushed to the health center's emergency room.

A former mortgage broker, Bradford now has five plates in his head and lives on disability.

After he was released from hospital and while going through the personal belongings he had with him the night he was attacked, Bradford says he came across his digital camera. As he began going through the pictures he discovered photos had been taken of him while he lay unconscious in the hospital. Photos of his genitals.

He immediately filed a police complaint alleging "unlawful sexual contact".

"I was mortified," Bradford said in the police report. And, asked "what else did they do?"

"The picture reveals a lot to the imagination of what may have happened to me," Bradford wrote. "There are bloody latex gloves on me in the picture. My genitals were the center point of the picture and I was there for a head injury???"

Denver officers who investigated the complaint did not file any charges saying they could not prove the defendants acted upon sexual arousal."

Denver Health launched its own investigation and two employees were later fired.

Bradford's lawyer this week served the hospital with a notice of intent to sue, alleging that Bradford's civil rights were violated.
