Special Editions On DVD And Videocassette Debut Worldwide On September 5, 2000

Culver City, CA - Columbia Pictures’ biggest grossing film of all time ($550 million worldwide), the special effects-laden MEN IN BLACK, will be released worldwide on DVD and videocassette on September 5, 2000. Starring Oscar-winner Tommy Lee Jones (“The Fugitive”) and Will Smith (“Independence Day”) and directed by Barry Sonnenfeld (“The Addams Family,” “Wild Wild West”), the videocassette and DVD contain special value added features with the DVD featuring some of the most sophisticated, eye-popping elements ever offered on this exciting new format.

Loaded with state-of-the-art intergalactic special features, the MEN IN BLACK DVD will be available in three DVD versions each featuring never-before-seen footage.

The MEN IN BLACK COLLECTOR’S SERIES contains an entire universe of exclusive footage and unique features including an all-new documentary, “The Metamorphosis of MEN IN BLACK.”

The MEN IN BLACK LIMITED EDITION is a two-disc version of the film in both the full screen and the widescreen format. In addition, the release includes all the features of the Collector’s Series plus an interactive editing workshop for three different scenes from the film, extended storyboards, conceptual art and production photo galleries all set in a specially designed collector’s package.

This special edition DVD will also include a collectible poster featuring an exclusive creature concept image signed by Barry Sonnenfeld and Rick Baker, the special effects supervisor.

The MEN IN BLACK DTS COLLECTOR’S SERIES features everything on the MEN IN BLACK Collector’s Series plus an English 5.1 (Dolby Digital) soundtrack enhanced with the DTS (Digital Theater Systems) sound option.

A special edition of MEN IN BLACK will also be available on VHS and will contain the original featurette, extended and alternate scenes and the music video starring Will Smith and “Mikey.”
