Miami-based Young is one of the most successful female DJs

After playing and experiencing the music in cities from Miami to Vancouver, Los Angeles to Montreal, San Francisco to New York, DJ/Remixer/Producer Tracy Young has embarked on yet another journey, the creation of her own record label, the aptly named Ferosh Records.

Forming her own record label was a natural progression for the Miami-based Young who has been on a steady path to becoming one of the most successful female DJs in the industry. Complementing her now global spinning schedule is a repertoire of remix songs each with their separate, distinct sounds tailored to the artists which have included: Pet Shop Boys, Shakira, Pink, Christina Aguilera, Stevie Nicks, Enrique Iglesias, Simply Red, Shalim, Gloria Estefan, Cyndi Lauper, INXS and Madonna. Eager to create her own productions, Tracy used her experiences working at Interscope Records combined with her experience in radio to launch Ferosh Records in September 2003.

“This label is about the music first and foremost and as I’ve discovered while playing in locations around the world, it’s the smaller labels that are making truly great, cutting edge music,” Tracy says. Stylistically, Ferosh refuses to categorize itself into one particular style. Tracy adds, “A good record is a good record, period. This label is about quality.” Finding quality music is a full-time job and Tracy’s been keeping an ear to the ground for hot new music.

Ferosh recently released its first CD compilation, “The White Party 2003”, which has had strong sales nationwide. (Buy It) That comes as no surprise with a track listing that reads like a who’s who in current dance music: Cyndi Lauper (“Shine”), Alma Matris ("Rapido"), Robbie Rivera (“Hum Melody”), Angelo Kortez (“Drums”) and Tracy’s remix of Gloria Estefan’s unreleased track, “Wrapped.” Also included are two original tracks, “Ferosh” by Alan T and “Believe In We” by Ceevox, which will be released soon as singles on Ferosh Records.

Tracy’s efforts to find strong talent to complement her own is paying off, as evidenced by underground diva CEEVOX coming forward to join forces with her. CEEVOX and songwriter Hector Arencibia combined their talents with Tracy’s production skills in creating “Believe In We”, a surefire hit to follow up on CEEVOX’s popular tracks of recent years (“My Imagination”, “Don’t Leave Me This Way”, “Wurkin’”). Tracy has found other talent in the industry to add to the Ferosh family, such as Costantino Padovano (aka DJ Mixmaster or Funky Junction), Chicago favorite DJ Greg Drescher, and Evolved (the remixing team of Mike Mucci & Al Camara) who will feature upcoming remixes on Ferosh.

Continuing her strong work ethic combined with her passion and dedication, Tracy Young is once again poised to shatter the glass ceiling with Ferosh Records. Watch for more details in months to come at www.ferosh.com.
