Chicago, IL -
Jae Cho will represent Sidetrack and compete with six other bartenders from gay bars across the nation in the Palm Springs Cocktail Challenge. Cho, who turned 34 yesterday, competed with other bartenders locally and regionally before winning those competitions and being chosen to go to California.
Cho has worked at Sidetrack for about four years. "Sidetrack is one of the most fabulous places to work and their employee retention rate speaks for that" said Cho. "Health insurance, great benefits, the staff are all friends…it would be very hard to leave here and I can see why."
The competition, which will be held at Georgie's Alibi/Azuls in Palm Springs on Sunday, has each bartender creating their own special cocktail, shot and Martini. Cho's Martini is titled "Palmetto Sunset" and is a layered drink made of Absolut Peach, Medori, grenadine and juice. "It's amazing" said Cho.
Cho's costs for the trip are paid for by the Palm Springs event which is also sponsored by Logo and Gay.com.
Of additional local note, one of Cho's competitors will be Wil Douglas of Charlie's Las Vegas, sister bar to our own Charlie's Chicago.
