The LGBT Network was dropped by NY Department of Health following investigation

The LGBT Network of Long Island lost the confidence of the New York Department of Health and dropped $10 million in public funding. A once nationally respected non-profit, the organization has been under investigation since 2019.

"Since 2019, when the Office of the State Comptroller asked us to look into [their] contracts with us, the organization has repeatedly failed to provide the Department with required documentation to show it has spent state funding efficiently and effectively," Department of Health said in a statement.

"As a result, the Department has terminated current and future contracts with [them]," they continued.

The state says it will try to route LGBTQ service users to other organizations that can meet their needs.

LGBT Network has long promoted itself as the premier LGBTQ service provider in Long Island.
