Spring Awakening Music Festival returns to Chicago’s Addams/Medill Park with the biggest lineup in its history

LiveXLive's React Presents Spring Awakening Music Festival, the Midwest's largest all-electronic music festival, returns to Chicago's Addams/Medill Park on Saturday, October 2 and Sunday, October 3 for the first "Autumn Equinox" edition of the festival.

The jam-packed, two-day all-electronic music festival experience will feature the biggest lineup in the festival's 9.5-year history with more than 70 artists performing across four unique stages, demonstrating a dynamic variety of genres within the electronic music spectrum.

Headliners include Martin Garrix, Excision, Diplo, Galantis, RL Grime b2b Baauer, Dillon Francis, Madeon, Zomboy, AC Slater, Shiba San, Sofi Tukker DJ Set, and more.

“We couldn't be more excited to see the amazing talent,” said Founder and CEO of LiveXLive Rob Ellin, as part of a media preview on Friday. “[The return] is great for the talent, great for the community.”

In addition to an incredible lineup, organizers said SAMF 2021 will feature stunning new stage production, expanded interactive and immersive art installations, carnival rides, and a number of other experiential elements.

“Walking backstage I had a little moment like 'holy shit' look at that stage the team built, it was a little moment for me,” said Dermot McCormack, LiveXLive's president.

Organizers also promised even more surprises.

SAMF skipped 2019 and was virtual last year due to COVID-19 constraints. The return to in-person events is a positive for the music industry.

“We're building a little city,” said Ellin. “We're going to have over a thousand people working. I couldn't be prouder to watch all these people back at work. They've been suffering for over the last 18 months.”

COVID-19 continues to play a factor. In accordance with guidance from the City of Chicago, organizers will require proof of vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test for entry to the festival.

Spring Awakening is an 18+ festival and attendees will be required to show a government-issued photo ID upon entry.

LiveXLive will be live streaming the festival and will feature exclusive pre-and post-show coverage and live interviews with artists, managers, and attendees from LiveZone, LiveXLive's original franchise that will bring an immersive fan experience to SAMF.
