A Michigan man has been charged on one count of open murder and one count of mutilation of a human body in the gruesome Christmas-week death of a 25-year-old man.

Mark Latunski, 50, was arraigned Monday afternoon on charges of murder and mutilation and disinterment of a body in connection with the death of hairstylist Kevin Bacon, whose body was found on Dec. 28 at the suspect's Bennington Township home, according to the Lansing State Journal.

Bacon was last seen on Christmas Eve, when he told his roommate he was leaving to meet a man he had met on Grindr. When Bacon did not appear at his parents' house on Christmas Day, he was reported missing.

Police were led to Latunski's home after the victim's father Karl Bacon relayed some of his son's Facebook messages to the Clayton Township Police Department.

When police entered Latunski's home, detectives testified they found Bacon hanging naked from the ceiling.

According to WLIX.com, detectives testified that Latunski confessed to killing Bacon by stabbing him with a knife in the back one time then slitting his throat. Latunski reportedly admitted he used the knife to cut off Bacon's testicles and consumed them.
