Chris Evert to Host "Women at Risk"

New York - Tennis star Chris Evert has signed on to host the nationally syndicated Women at Risk television series, it was announced by producer and distributor TWI today. Evert will host four one-hour syndicated specials examining vital health issues for women of all ages.

"A national television series addressing these very important topics such as Reproductive Health and Diabetes II is long overdue," said Evert. " I am pleased to be a part of these cutting-edge and informative programs that will educate women and help them take charge of their own health care."

The first program of the series, entitled Cycle of Life: Your Guide to Reproductive Health, will air from May 19th through June 25th across the country. The one-hour special will cover topics such as infertility, later-age pregnancy, contraception, endometriosis, perimenopause and menopause.

The goal of the program is to arm women with the latest medical knowledge so that they can communicate effectively and become true partners in their own health care. The series will include four specials including Cycle of Life, Healthy Heart, The Trimming of America's Waistline and Women and Cancer.

Since her retirement at the 1989 U.S. Open at the age of 34, Chris has been involved in everything from sports commentating and corporate representation to owning (and coaching) The Evert Tennis Academy in Boca Raton, FL. Additionally, her efforts with Chris Evert Charities, Inc. have raised over $8 million to combat substance abuse and to assist neglected, drug exposed and abused children.
