Tea Time dance set for Dec. 30 at The Call

Joe Gallagher is a real estate broker who, unofficially, has jumped into working tea dance events from I Am Living Productions.

"I don't have an official title (with I Am Living), but I support Beau (Guidry, the event promotor and founder) in helping increase the reach of his social media exposure, and ( I also) step in during events doing wristbands or other small tasks."

Next up for I Am Living Productions: Tea Time dance on Sunday, Dec. 30, starting at 5 p.m. at The Call (1547 W. Bryn Mawr) in Chicago, featuring DJs Andrew James and Ale Maes.

"Joe is one of the most genuine, kind-hearted people I've met in Chicago," Guidry said. "I had the pleasure of working with him at Manhole (about) four years ago when I moved to Chicago and have had the pleasure of calling him a dear friend since."

Gallagher, 33, lives in Chicago's Uptown neighborhood and works for Dream Town Realty.  He was born in Newport, Rhode Island, and moved all around the U.S. and abroad as he's from a military family.

He moved from Detroit to Chicago in 2011.

"I am a former sales trainer for consumer products, but wanted to work for myself more. So, after meeting with some friends, (such as) Beau, I decided to get my Illinois Brokers License.  Shortly thereafter I joined a team with my friend Sam Powell.  Our new real estate team launches on New Year's Day as Pride Real Estate Chicago, powered by Dream Town Realty."

Gallagher's real estate work is pretty simple, he said: "Find you the perfect home, of course."

"It (often requires) a lot of follow-up, making sure that we are finding homes that are exactly what you're looking for and really listening to what you want."

The real estate gig brings flexibility, which makes him smile. "I am so glad to finally be free from the office environment," he said.

Gallagher also bowls in the inaugural season of Stonewall Bowling, and enjoys sewing and crafting outfits and costumes.

"Other than (at) the gym, you can find me making my own costumes and gluing rhinestones on things that shouldn't have rhinestones on them," he said, laughing.
