Market Days 2017 brings bevy of entertainment to Boystown this weekend

Mon. August 7, 2017

36th annual Northalsted Market Days, Aug. 12-13 (Full entertainment schedule below)

Chicago, IL - The Midwest's largest street festival is back as Northalsted Market Days 2017 takes over Chicago's Boystown neighborhood with some of the biggest parties and a bevy of entertainment options this weekend.

Nearly 300,000 people will descend on the six blocks of North Halsted between Addison and Belmont to browse the unique vendors, eat, drink and dance to a variety of different musical acts playing on five entertainment stages throughout the day.

"To host one of the biggest and longest running festivals in Chicago in such a vibrant neighborhood, naturally draws people from all over the city, state, country and beyond," said Northalsted Business Alliance Executive Director Chad Honeycutt. "It's truly a welcoming and wonderful weekend to experience a fantastic array of music and enjoy the area and all of our offerings."

With appearances by 10,000 Maniacs, Jody Watley, Big Freedia, Tiffany, Brian Justin Crum, Inaya Day and others, Market Days is set to deliver on its reputation as a must-do fest in the Midwest.

"Market Days is such a great event. It's a vibe for any and every one," Day, who will perform the North Stage at 4:45 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 12, told ChicagoPride.com. "I'm loving the line-up and I intend to see as many of the other acts as I can."

Chicago's Steve Grand, fresh off an appearance at Pride Fest Milwaukee and residency in Provincetown, returns home to perform Saturday, Aug. 12 at 2 p.m. on the Equality Stage. Grand recently released "Walking", the first single off his second album due out later this year.

Also in the mix are newcomers and Chicago mainstays – like 16 Candles, Catfight and Wedding Banned – all split between two days and five stages. You'll find the full lineup below.

The 36th annual Northalsted Market Days festival, presented by the Northalsted Business Alliance, takes place on Saturday, Aug. 12 and Sunday, Aug. 13 from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. The event runs down Halsted Street from Belmont to Addison. A $10 suggested donation is requested at the entrance. ChicagoPride.com is a proud media sponsor.
