Sodomy Brings Pat Robertson To His Knees

Tue. July 15, 2003

Virginia Beach, Virginia - Religious broadcaster Pat Robertson has dropped to his knees praying for God to remove three justices from the Supreme Court so they could be replaced by conservatives.

The conservative Christian leader is urging his followers to pray with him.

``We ask for miracles in regard to the Supreme Court,'' Robertson said today on his Christian Broadcasting Network program `The 700 Club.''

Robertson said the Supreme Court has lost touch with the reality of America in light of its decision overturning the Texas Sodomy law. The Court "has opened the door to homosexual marriage, bigamy, legalized prostitution and even incest,'' he said.

He told viewers that he is launching a 21-day ``prayer offensive'' directed at the Supreme Court.

Robertson is targeting three justices in particular, but did not name them. He referred to them only by saying: "One justice is 83-years-old, another has cancer and another has a heart condition. Would it not be possible for God to put it in the minds of these three judges that the time has come to retire?''

Justice John Paul Stevens, who was born in 1920, is 83. Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg had colon cancer surgery in 1999. The identity of the third justice is unclear.
