On Sat., May 9, 2015, Friends of the Chicago Gay and Lesbian Hall of Fame (GLHF) will hold its fourth annual 'Celebrity Bowl', at Waveland Bowl, 3700 N. Western Ave. in Chicago.
Registration is from 10:30 to 11 a.m., bowling from 11 a.m. to noon and wrap-up shortly after noon. If you wish to participate in the Celebrity Bowl, by raising funds through securing pledges, or wish to receive additional information, contact the event Co-ordinator Dick Uyvari, by calling 773-769-5115.
The Celebrity Bowl itself is free and open to the public. Come cheer on more than 20 celebrities scheduled to bowl at this time, including U.S. Rep Jan Schakowsky, Alderman James Cappleman, State Rep. Sara Feigenholz, Gary Chichester, Tico Valle, and Mary Morten.
Friends of The Chicago Gay and Lesbian Hall of Fame is a not-for-profit, 501( c )( 3 ) corporation, which annually holds an Induction Ceremony for its honorees. Chicago is the only known municipality that so honors its LGBTQ residents. It not only pays tribute to deserving individuals and organizations, but also documents the LGBTQ communities' heritage and diversity through its annual publication, and its website, www.GLHallofFame.org.
The GLHF is privately funded through the donations of individuals, businesses and organizations, along with its 2014-15 sponsors, including, BBJ Linen, Center on Halsted, Chicago History Museum, Grab Magazine, Hall's Rentals, House of Blues, International Mr. Leather, J&L Catering, Joe La Pat & Dick Uyvari, Michael Leppen, Napleton's Northwestern Chrysler Jeep Dodge, Nightspots, Phil Hannema, Rick Aguilar Studios, Sidetrack, Supergurl Images, Waveland Bowl and Windy City Media Group.
