Thomas Beatie tells Barbara Walters that he is expecting again

Portland, OR - The transgender man who made worldwide headlines dubbed as "The Pregnant Man," Thomas Beattie, tells Barbara Walters that he is again expecting a second child.

The 34 year-old Beattie, who transitioned from female to male and decided not to remove his reproductive organs during the procedure 10 years ago, has told Walters that he is in his first trimester. Walters previewed her exclusive interview on "The View" today with the full interview set to air Friday during the ABC newsmagazine "20/20."

Beattie, born Tracy Lagondino, made headlines when he gave birth to a baby Susan on June 29.

"I feel good," Beatie told Walters. The new baby is due on June 12.

Sporting a light beard, Beatie told Walters he did not go back on the male hormone testosterone after Susan's birth because he and his wife Nancy wanted to have another baby.

Before the birth of Sarah, Beatie told The Oprah Winfrey Show "I feel it's not a male or female desire to have a child. It's a human need. I'm a person and I have the right to have a biological child."

Beatie, who begin a lesbian relationship with Nancy when he was 24, had sex reassignment surgery in 2002. The couple were legally married in 2003 and decided to start a family. Beatie first became pregnant since Nancy, who'd had a hysterectomy, could no longer have children.

In addition to the Walters interview, UK based Sundance Films announced in July plans to produce the documentary titled Pregnant Man.

Beatie's own memoir Labor of Love: The Story of One Man's Extraordinary Pregnancy arrived last week.
