From "Till the World Ends" to "Hit Me With Your Best Shot," GIRLBAND is putting its own take on pop music and dishing it out at Chicago Pride Fest. The ladies in the group of classically trained musicians each bring a mastery of pop, rock, Latin, punk and disco, combining them on stage to cover some of the hottest songs in the business.
"Since its debut in November, 2011, GIRLBAND has charmed the skinny jeans off hipsters and frat boys alike at iconic venues such as Elbo Room, Cubby Bear (Wrigleyville), and Goose Island," writes GIRLBAND of itself. "Pouring a unique cocktail of endless energy, musical fusion, and a stiff dose of vocals, GIRLBAND is ready to entertain any crowd. Our set list comprises of all women who rock, all the time."
GIRLBAND performs the South Stage at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 21. Chicago Pride Fest, which is organized by the Northalsted Business Alliance, runs June 21-22 on Halsted Street between Addison and Grace. A $10 donation is recommended. The Chicago Pride Parade is the following Sunday, June 29 at noon.
