Chicago, IL -
SPRING HAS SPRUNG!!! Say that ten times real fast. I hope everyone is enjoying the warm weather that is upon us, and the eye candy that goes with it. MZ Kii Kii stopped down at Vision on April 5th to find Saeed & Palesh from D.C. on the decks spinning the crowd into a TIZZY. They have a swinging couch that I simply LOVE. Back on Tuesday April 8th, after a long night of rubbing elbows with the social elite, I hopped in my limo and headed to Charlie's……only to find the doors SHUDDERED at 230 A.M. Annoyed, I hopped back in the limo and spun it around to Rehab……..only to find them closed too! Aren't these joint 4 A.M. bars? What's up with that!?! I was feeling a bit cultured recently and fluttered over to the Vitam Theater down in Wacky Park on April 13th. Seems they had a really cute show going on called "Seldom Lucky, Seldom Plush". Dancer Jorge provided much visual nutrition in this very cute production.
United Colors of Benetton had their annual fashion show at White Star on April 4th. Elite guested their hunky models for this yummy show. Transit hosted "Who Da Funk" at Transit on April 10th courtesy of Pure Productions. Speaking of Pure, they hosted Laurent Garnier @ Zentra on March 19th. Tan cute, Mammacita! Watch for "Default One" on May 3rd. What is it? Gramaphone Records will be showcasing their best and brightest Techno DJ at the Metro for an evening of music and live performances. Tickets are 11$ at the door. A new venue opening on Southport & Roscoe called SoPo Lounge promises to bring the best of Manhattan flavor to Chicago. Too bad they can't import some of the hotties from Manhattan along with the libations. I previously mentioned Cherry Red opening on Sheffield Ave. and their soulful Sundays. They are now going full tilt apparently with DJ's and events from Wednesday to Sunday.
Up and coming for which to watch: Legendary Timo Maas comes to Chicago's House of Blues on Friday April 25th . This guarantees to be the place to be. Glam finally gets with it by hosting the 2003 Fireball Salute party on April 27th. Opening DJ is Ralphi Rosario with Teri Bristol as the closer. Queer as Folk comes to Chicago--- sort of. As part of the QAF Babylon Tour, DJ Tracey Young hits Circuit NightClub on May 10th. Derrick Carter spins 'Localsound' at Big Wig Club on Division and Ashland on May 1st. Zentra is giving us party heaven with Kenny Dope (Masters At Work) on May 2nd, and Layo & Bushwacka on May 24th. Kisses to Y'all until next time kiddies!
