Woman sexually assaulted in Boystown alley

Police search for suspect in daylight sexual assault.

Chicago, IL - Chicago Police say a 22-year-old woman was sexually assaulted in Boystown Monday afternoon. 

The assault happened about 4:25 p.m. as the woman walked southbound in an alley at 3500 N. Halsted, reportedly behind the former Brompton Auto Body near Halsted and Cornelia.  



The woman was threatened with a knife or razor during the sexual assault and robbery. The offender stole the victims' iPhone and wallet.

Police released a general description of the suspect, a 5-foot-5 black man believed to be 25- to 32-years old. He was wearing a black skull cap, blue jeans and white gym shoes. 

The victim sought help after the attack at a nearby Caribou Coffee, according to Crime in Boystown. The victim was transported to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center in stable condition. 



So far, no one is in custody.
