Tue. March 11, 2014

A majority of young Republicans support gay marriage.

According a new poll from the Pew Research Center, 61 percent of adult Republicans under age 30 favor marriage equality, while 35 percent remain opposed.

Twenty-six percent of young Republicans also say "more gay and lesbian couples raising children" is a good thing for Americans society, compared to 18 percent who say it's a bad thing. Fifty-six percent say it doesn't make a difference or they don't know.

Older Republicans disagree, with just 27 percent ages 50 and older in favor of allowing gay couples to marry, and a large majority (52% ages 50-64; 66% ages 65+) saying it's bad for society to allow gay couples to raise a family.
