BOYSTOWN series author Jake Biondi announces photo contest winner Nick DiCristina

Fri. February 21, 2014

Jake Biondi is excited to announce the fifth and final winner from his national photo contest to find new faces to represent the characters of his "Boystown" book series. Chicago boy Nick DiCristina is the second and final grand prize winner and will be representing Keith Colgan in all upcoming publicity.

"Nick is such a great guy and I am thrilled to be working on 'Boystown' with him; he's like our team captain," Biondi said in a press release. "Keith Colgan is one of the more complex characters in 'Boystown' and Nick has a depth to him that relays that complexity to our audience."

"Keith is such a rich character," DiCristina said. "'Boystown' readers may get a first impression of him that isn't entirely accurate because, as the story unfolds, we learn more and more about him. He has a great heart and is always trying to better himself."

The series, which follows the lives of several residents of Chicago's famed gayborhood, opens with the handsome Keith Colgan ready to pop the question to his boyfriend Emmett, the youngest Mancini brother and one of the story's central characters.

"Boystown" was initially conceived as an internet serial, with the first 10 episodes novelized last November. The style, which Biondi calls partly inspired by soaps like "Dynasty" and "Revenge," reads a lot like television, something that has prompted Biondi to begin working with a team of actors to put "Boystown" in the hands of Hollywood producers and bring it to the small screen.

"'Boystown' is a remarkable account of the situations that take place in the non-heterosexual part of the world," DiCristina concluded. "I have always wanted to work with Jake Biondi, and feel as though I will be an asset to his team, the missing piece in his puzzle!"

A lot is on the horizon for Biondi and "Boystown" as his team of actors and talent continues to grow. Currently, Aaron Savvy, who appears on the most recent "Boystown" book cover, Billy Santoro, Boston Miles and DeMarco Majors are all working with Biondi to help bring his steamy, page-turning serial to your television soon.
