AIDS Foundation of Chicago's (AFC) commemorated World AIDS Day with its annual World of Chocolate event on Friday, Dec. 6.
Hundreds of people gathered in The Great Hall at Union Station, a new venue for the event, to sample sweet treats from dozens of chocolatiers. Among this year's culinarians were Terry's Toffee, Minibar, Mercat a la Planxa, 90 Miles Cuban Cafe and the Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts.
Local celebrity judges and those attending rated the presentations and the winners were as follows:
—Best Sweet Sample: Peninsula Hotel
—Best Savory Sample: Mercat a la planxa
—Best Libation: prasino LaGrange
—Top Overall — Business Class I ( small businesses ): Uptown Brownie
—Top Overall — Business Class II ( large businesses ): Chicago365 Hospitality
—People's Choice Award: Terry's Toffee
